Shaik Jani Basha, popularly known as Jani Master, a renowned choreographer in the Telugu film industry, has been booked on serious charges of sexual assault. A 21-year-old female colleague, also a choreographer, has accused him of multiple instances of assault that allegedly took place during outdoor shoots in Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad over the past few months.

The woman filed a complaint with the Raidurgam police in Hyderabad, and the case was initially registered as a zero FIR. It has since been transferred to the Narsingi police for further investigation. Jani Master faces several grave charges under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including:

- Section 376: Rape
- Section 506: Criminal Intimidation
- Section 323: Voluntarily Causing Hurt

In light of these allegations, Jani Master has been distanced by the Jana Sena Party, with which he was closely associated. The party, led by actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, has suspended Jani Master from all party activities until the legal process is completed.

Meanwhile, supporters of Jani Master have come forward, claiming the accusations are part of a politically motivated conspiracy, allegedly orchestrated by the opposition YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). They argue that the YSRCP is attempting to tarnish his reputation, unable to digest his rising popularity. These supporters have circulated old videos in which the female choreographer praised Jani Master for his mentorship, highlighting the numerous opportunities he had provided her in the film industry.

As the investigation continues, the case has sent shockwaves through the Telugu film industry, raising fresh concerns about the safety and well-being of women in the industry.
