Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has announced on his official social media page that he has tested positive for Covid-19, a day after senior Congress leader and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tested positive for the virus.
Stating that he was experiencing mild symptoms, Rahul Gandhi urged those who came in contact with him to follow the necessary protocols. "After experiencing mild symptoms, I've just tested positive for COVID. All those who've been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe," Rahul Gandhi tweeted. The Congress MP had been campaigning in Kerala, Assam and West Bengal for the ongoing assembly elections.
Owing to the massive rise in cases of Covid-19 in the second wave of the pandemic, Rahul Gandhi suspended his remaining public rallies as part of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections campaign on April 18.
