Congress member says sorry to actress Samyuktha Hegde after controversy

Last week, it was reported that activist and Congress party member Kavitha Reddy had heckled and tried to abuse 'Kirrak Party' actress Samyuktha Hegde at a public place in Bengaluru. The incident shocked many, with the 22-year-old actress getting wide sympathy for being victimized.

The news is that Kavitha Reddy has since tendered an apology, saying that she doesn't support moral policing of any thing. "I have always opposed Moral Policing. I realize that my actions were construed as such. An argument ended up in me reacting aggressively as well, it was a mistake. As a responsible citizen and progressive woman, I own up to and sincerely apologise to @SamyukthaHegde and her friends!" she said.

Samyuktha has accepted the apology. "I hope we can all move forward from the incident and make women feel safe everywhere," the youngster said.

Advocates Maitreyi Bhat and Arjun Rao had mediated between the two after the incident caught the attention of the media.
