In a piece of sad news, Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Ratan Singh Thakur today died of a heart attack while counting was taking place. The veteran was at a counting centre in Sehore district when he reportedly told his followers that he was feeling unease in the chest. His followers immediately rushed him to a nearby district hospital. However, Thakur had breathed his last on the way.

Shocking incidents on counting days are not unknown. Candidates or party members do suffer health issues because of shock defeats or even victories. But death is a big tragedy.

The Congress party is doing pretty badly in Madhya Pradesh, where BJP is set to win 28 seats, leaving the Grand Old Party with just 1 seat.
