A video of a woman begging on the streets of Varanasi Ghat speaking fluent English has gone viral on the internet. The woman identified as Swati's English-speaking video was video graphed and posted by Banaras Hindu University (BHU) student Sharda Avanish Tripathi on Facebook.
In the video, Swati says that she hailed from South India and was a graduate in Computer Science. She said that the right side of her body got paralyzed after she gave birth to her baby. She has been living on the ghats of Varanasi for three years and the charity from passersby is her only hope. In the video, she urged people to help her get a job. Swati added that she can do typing and other computer-related work.
“Swati is completely healthy mentally but has to live on the streets. She does not need rehab but financial help. She didn’t take money from me but asked me to get her some work. Swati can do typing and other computer-related work. English is fluent and well-mannered. Swati deserves a better life,” reads a part of Sharda Avanish's caption when translated from Hindi. Swati's story broke the hearts of netizens, who shared the video with hopes that someone would help her get a job.
