Complaint against Vimal

A producer has alleged that Vimal of ÂPasanga fame has been demanding huge remuneration to act in his film thanks to the success of ÂKalavaniÂ, in which the actor had played the protagonist.
According to Shanmugavel, producer of the under production ÂKalingathuparaniÂ, the film went to floors in November last year after he roped in Vimal for the lead role for a salary of Rs six lakh.
ÂVimal assured me that he would act in my film after completing ÂKalavaniÂ. However he is now demanding Rs 60 lakh as remuneration saying that ÂKalavani had become a blockbuster and his reach is big now, he said.
Reacting to the allegation, Vimal said, ÂNever had I demanded Rs 60 lakh from Shanmugavel. The film was dropped due to a rift between the director Aindhu Kovilan and the producer. So I had given my dates to other projects. The producer now wants to revive the project, but I am unable to give call-sheet.Â
