Dubbed films are really proving to be a major competition for the Telugu ones.
In April, we had both Mumbai Xpress and Chandramukhi elbow out most of the Telugu releases.
And Chandramukhi also made quite a bit of profit.
Now Manmadha is waiting in the pipeline. In all probability it may be released this weekend, unless the producers develop cold feet in taking on Andarivadu.
But there is most likely to be a collision between Nagarjuna's Super and Vikram's dubbed film Aparichithudu.
The film, directed by whiz Shankar, is one of the costliest ever in the south Indian film history. Laxmi Ganapathi Films is releasing it in Telugu, while Oscar Ravichandran, the original producer in Tamil, presents it.
The film stars Vikram and Sada in the lead and is full of Shankar's typical larger-than-life imagery. Everything has been filmed with grandeur, he says. The film deals with rooting out corruption from the society and Vikram is said to play a Jekyll and Hyde kind of role.
The audio of Aparichithudu was launched yesterday. The songs, set to tune by music by Harris Jeyaraj, are already rocking
Looks like Nags has a tough task ahead.
