Commando 2 Review
Expectations
Vidyut Jammwal's 'Commando' surprised the cinegoers due to its great action and hard work by the lead actor. Sadly, Vidyut's next film has been just a special appearance and finally he returns back with the sequel to his debut film in the form of 'Commando 2'.
The trailer looks fantastic, especially all the stunts performed by Vidyut, leading to a good amount of curiosity and expectation.
Story
'Commando 2' is a story of Vicky Chaddha (Vansh Bhardwaj) and his wife Maria (Esha Gupta), who are arrested by Malaysia police. Vicky is known for managing black money accounts of top politicians and industrialist. He sources out their fund and helps them transferring back in the form of white money.
Due to demonetization, a lot of fund is stuck with Vicky due to which the home minister Leela Chaudhari (Shefali Shah) forms a team consisting Inspector Bhaktawar (Freddy Daruwala), Inspector Bhavna Reddy (Adah Sharma), Zafar Hussain (Sumit Gulati) and a last moment entry Commando Karan Singh Dogra (Vidyut Jammwal). Together, they set on the trail of Vicky Chadda.
The 'Glitz' Factor
The movie starts with a power packed action scene which is a good inspiration of the 'Raid' movie and far better than what Tiger Shroff did in 'Baaghi'. Every action sequence in this film is entertaining and totally engaging.
There are around 5 to 6 main action sequences which are enough to keep you entertained. These scenes along with few twists in the interval and the climax make this movie a good entertainer.
The cinematography is good and does proper justice with the theme of the film. The action choreography is of top class. The background music goes with the flow in the film.
There are no songs to dilute the impact of the film. 'Hare Krishna Hare Ram' in the end credits is enjoyable.
Director Deven Bhojani highly succeeds in extracting right ingredients required for an out and out action film. All the action sequences are thrilling and some of them have never been seen in our Hindi films.
Vidyut Jammwal does every unseen action stunt with total ease. Adah Sharma manages to charm everyone by her comically glamorous appearance. Esha Gupta looks great and lend good support. Shefali Shah and Satish Kaushik lend good support.
The 'Non-Glitz' Factor
The editing in order to keep the movie crisp is a bit jittered. The story, despite of being interesting keeps wandering in various places. The second half becomes repetitive and bit boring after a while. Every happening in the second half is shown in an easy manner without any conviction. The execution in few scenes is bit juvenile.
Director Deven Bhojani should have focused more on the screenplay of the second half, where nothing concrete is happening. The movie drags in between and should have more fight sequences. Vansh Bharadwaj overacts. Freddy Daruwala and Adil Hussain are wasted.
Final 'Glitz'
'Commando 2' is like a tepid mission which had full potential to become a memorable one. Still, it's a decent watch for all those who love good action films.
