Last year, nobody expected a rom-com like 'Geetha Govindam' to mint BO numbers like a colossal superstar movie. Vijay Deverakonda's stardom made this happen. The film crossed the Rs 70 Cr mark in terms of share.

This year, a comedy is poised to outcompete such a momentous blockbuster. It's 'F2'. The Venkatesh-Varun Tej starring comedy has already earned a distributor share of more than Rs 60 Cr since its release on January 12. At this rate, say trade pundits, the Sankranthi release could trump 'Geetha Govindam' in the coming days.

If Deverakonda was the USP of 'GG', it has to be Anil Ravipudi in the case of 'F2'. The absolutely hilarious first half has done all the magic. This is not to take away from Venkatesh, whose impeccable credentials can never be underestimated.
