Popular comedy actor Vengal Rao admitted in ICU after serious illness

Comedy actor Vengal Rao is very popular among his fans especially for the variety of roles he has played with Vadivelu in many films. It is reported that he was visiting his daughter in Vijayawada and suddenly developed severe stomach pain. When taken to the hospital it was diognosed that Rao's kidneys were affected and he has now admitted to the ICU.
Family sources say that the doctors have told them that the actor is likely to be in hospital care for another week or so. Vengal Rao started his career as a stuntman and has served as the stunt double of superstars such as Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra.
Due to a stunt gone wrong he suffered multiple fractures and later became an actor debuting in the Prabhu starrer 'Kattumarakaaran' directed by P. Vasu. However his association with Vadivelu in more than 30 films endeared him to the audiences especially in films such as ''Kanthasamy' and 'Thalainagaram'. He is also a part of Vadivelu's comeback film 'Naai Sekar Returns' produced by Lyca Productions which is in postproduction.
