Popular comedy actor Thavasi has acted in several films over the years especially portraying village temple priests and astrologers. His most famous role is in Sivakarthikeyan's blockbuster hit movie 'Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam' in which he would cheat Sathyaraj by uttering the punchline "Karuppan Kusumbukaran' when his predictions go wrong.

Thavasi has been affected by cancer and his usually well built body has become skeletal. Thavasi's son Arumugam has appealed to the film fraternity for financial help. The Nadigar Sangam also has made an appeal on social media on his behalf.

It is truly sad to see Thavasi who made millions laugh in such a pathetic condition and hope he gets the relief from his industry colleagues and fans and get well soon.
