Popular Kollywood comedian becomes a DMK member

Popular comedian Imman Annachi is the latest addition in the league of Kollywood celebrities entering politics. The comedian who has emerged as a necessary cast member in Tamil main stream commercial entertainers has joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Party this morning in front of M.Karunanidhi, the party's leader and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Though Imman Annachi has acted in a few Tamil films before, he became popular among people for the successful show he conducted in a popular comedy channel owned by Kalanidhi Maran, the elder brother of former Union Information Technology Minister Dayanidhi Maran. Dayanidhi Maran is a member of DMK party.

Now Imman has become a popular comedian in Kollywood with notable performances in the many films including 'Jilla', 'Goli Soda', 'Poojai', 'Kayal', 'Puli' and the latest 'Anjala'.

Imman is also continuing as a Television anchor. He is conducting a weekend reality show for Kids in Sun TV, the flagship channel of Kalanidhi Maran.
