Comedian Ali, a prominent figure in the Telugu film industry and former politician, has announced his departure from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). In a video released on social media, Ali expressed his decision to leave politics entirely and return to his first love acting and filmmaking. This marks the end of his political journey with the YSRCP, a party he joined prior to the 2019 elections.
Ali's resignation from YSRCP signifies a shift in his personal and professional priorities. He has clarified that he will no longer associate with any political party, emphasizing his commitment to the silver screen as an actor. Recognizing the Telugu film industry as his primary source of livelihood and identity, Ali is determined to focus solely on his acting career, which was significantly influenced by the encouragement of D. Ramanaidu, a revered figure in the Indian film industry.
Ali's foray into politics began in 1999 when he joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), citing his wish to serve the public and his admiration for Ramanaidu. He played an active role in TDP for two decades, engaging in campaigns and supporting the party's endeavors. However, Ali decided to switch allegiances to the YSRCP, wherein he campaigned vigorously for the party before the 2019 elections. His dedication led to his appointment as the Electronic Media Advisor to the Andhra Pradesh (AP) Government in 2022, a position that fueled speculations about his potential role in the 2024 elections.
Despite the rumors of Ali being considered for a significant political role in the 2024 elections, possibly in the Guntur district, he has now made it clear that he will not be seeking any political positions. Instead, he has chosen to operate as a common man, focusing on his contributions to the film industry. Ali's decision to leave politics also underscores his commitment to a trust established in his father's name, which he says is dedicated to helping many people.
Throughout his political career, Ali maintained a respectful demeanor, refraining from personal attacks on political rivals, and now, he looks forward to a future solely dedicated to filmmaking and acting. His departure from YSRCP leaves an open seat for speculation on future political dynamics within the party, particularly in the lead-up to the upcoming elections. For Ali, this marks a new chapter in his life, where he will return to his roots in entertainment, leaving politics behind.
Ali in his video shocked all saying that he is quitting politics as he feared Pawan Kalyan's fans. Ali was rewarded by the then YSRCP government when he was made the advisor to the government's electronic media cell. Pawan Kalyan during his campaigning few years back, speaking to scribes indirectly accused Ali of deserting him when he trusted him the most. Ali also reacted furiously during that time saying that he didn't get any favour from Pawan Kalyan and he had his right to choose his own party.
