After ‘Rathri Mazha’ which released in 2008 Meera Jasmine was away from Mollywood ostensibly with offers in other languages. She did films like ‘Mariyadhai’ with Vijayakanth in Tamil and ‘Bangaru Babu’ with Jagapathi Babu.

After that brief break Meera has signed a new film in Malayalam titled ‘Pattinte Palazhi’ which will be scripted and directed by Anchal. The film is fast progressing in and around Srirangapatnam near Mysore.

The story of ‘Pattinte Palazhi’ is about a traditional girl Veena, played by Meera Jasmine, who has a great passion for music. She meets Ameer, played by Manoj K Jayan, a highflying business man and they decide to marry. But things take unexpected turns when Ameer’s business partner Anwar, played by Krishna Kumar, enters the scene.

Nedumudi Venu, Prem Kumar, Revathi, Baby Bhavani and Baby Theertha are there in the cast. Dialogues are by S Rajendra Babu. Music is by Suresh Manimala. The film is produced by A K Pillai for Aditya Cinema.
