The trailer of Jayam Ravi's next movie 'Comali' was released during the weekend and has garnered over four million views so far with most viewers impressed with the humor content of a man rising from coma after sixteen years and coping with changes. However the last shot of the clip seemed to troll Rajini's statements about entering politics.
There was widespread protests on social media by Rajini fans and celebrities who found the troll offensive. The producer and director of 'Comali', Ishari Ganesh and Pradeep Ranganathan released a joint video statement in which they have expressed regret over the controversial shot. The director has asserted that he is a big fan of Thalaivar and he only included the shot in a fun way but promised to change it to make all of them super happy.
Ishari Ganesh confirmed that Kamal Haasan called him and expressed his dissatisfaction and he had assured the thespian that he would have the shot removed. Ganesh also requested the Rajini fans to come and watch the movie when it releases on August 15th due to its wholesome family entertainment values.
The response for #ComaliTrailer has been more than what v expected.Very happy that people liked it.But at the same time v came to know few Thalaivar fans were hurt.We don't want anyone to be sad as it's totally a happy film and we want everyone to be happy.Hence Im changing it ?? pic.twitter.com/CoWR2fm6VB
