Collector shocked by film producer's condition

Remember film producer and former MLA Chengala Venkat Rao, who was sentenced to imprisonment for life in a murder case, in 2017, along with 15 others? He has been undergoing the jail term ever since the conviction.
The news is that Rao is currently undergoing treatment at KGH General Hospital in Hyderabad for an illness. The other day, the District Collector visited the hospital for an inspection and found Rao in a very pathetic situation in his cell. He was shocked to know that Rao is a former MLA and a film producer.
As an NTR supporter and a Balakrishna friend for many years, Rao was with the TDP before joining the YSRCP in 2012. He tried to kill himself in 2005 by jumping into Hussain Sagar after the NTR-starrer 'Narasimhudu' faced financial hurdles. It's stunning that the producer of the blockbuster 'Samarasimha Reddy’ is in dire straits because of his own doing.
