Colonel Santosh Babu, who belongs to Telangana's Suryapeta, was martyred on June 15 during an unprecedented Indo-China clash. Santosh Babu and the two jawans attained veerghati in action, while 17 others succumbed to injuries a day later.

Speaking to a media house, Manjula, the mother of Santosh Babu, said that she feels sad that her only son is no more. At the same time, the mother said, she is proud that he sacrificed his life for the nation.

The video has gone viral. Thousands of social media users across the country have shared it and saluted the mother of the lion-hearted Colonel.

Condolences are pouring in from politicians and celebs across India. Saluting Santosh Babu, Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao, tweeted, "My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Colonel Santosh Babu of Suryapet district, Telangana and two more Indian soldiers who were martyred in the India-China border clashes today. Your valor and sacrifice will be remembered Santosh Babu Garu. Rest in peace. Jai Hind."
