As the Andhra Pradesh elections draw near, major political parties are formulating their strategies to seize power. The principal opposition party, TDP, has been vehemently critiquing the ruling YSRCP and CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. Despite facing challenges following the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu, TDP is actively organizing protests against the YSRCP.Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena has already declared an alliance with TDP, and he is vociferously targeting CM Jagan.
Meanwhile, CM Jagan remains confident that the developmental initiatives he's introduced will lead him back to power. He has coined the slogan "Why Not 170" and directed his party members to engage with the public through the Samajika Sadhikara Yatra. In line with the instructions from the party chief and CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the YSRC is commencing bus yatras known as Samajika Sadhikara Yatras from three regions of Andhra Pradesh on October 26.
The Chief Minister has indicated that daily party meetings will be held in each region, with local MLAs, party leaders, and representatives of SC, ST, BC, and minority communities addressing these gatherings. The leaders will elucidate the welfare benefits received by SC, ST, BC, and minority groups during the last 52 months of YSRC rule, highlighting accomplishments in areas such as social justice, women's empowerment, and the transformative changes in education, healthcare, and agriculture.
CM Jagan emphasizes that these bus yatras should convey a clear message to the people that the upcoming elections will be a contest between the underprivileged and the affluent. These yatras will continue for two months. The goal is to secure victory for the YSRC in all 175 constituencies in the 2024 elections. Given the positive response to the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam program since May of the previous year, the party-related initiatives are also underway. For the yatras, three specially equipped buses prominently display the YSRC symbol and the name Samajika Sadhikara Yatra.
The sides feature stickers with "Maa Namakkam Nuvve Jagananna" and images of the Chief Minister, along with prominent BC, SC, ST, and minority leaders. The first phase of the bus yatra will encompass the Ichchapuram constituency in Uttarandhra, Tenali in coastal Andhra, and Singanamala in Rayalaseema, lasting until November 9.In Uttarandhra, the yatra will commence in Ichchapuram on October 26 and travel through various constituencies.
In coastal Andhra, the yatra begins in Tenali on October 26 and covers several constituencies. In Rayalaseema, the initial phase of the bus yatra will start in the Singanamala constituency on October 26 and traverse multiple areas.Malladi Vishnu, the State Planning Board vice-chairman and Vijayawada central MLA, notes the high enthusiasm within the YSRC, with the entire party cadre actively participating in the bus yatra.
