This year Malluwood saw a line of releases for Onam. Every superstar of Malluwood arrived with big budgeted films following a renewed interest that viewers showed for festival flicks, that was evident from last Vishu that created three major hits.

Director Lal Jose has again proved that he is a trendsetter in Malayalam cinema as he had the guts to do a film like Classmates with a young and vibrant youth brigade after making that off-beat classic Achanurangatha Veedu.

It is indeed a bold move by Lal Jose to make this campus story with Kavya Madhavan and four young guns - Pritviraj, Sunil, Indrajeet and Jayasurya with a story and concept that is unique.

The story tells about The 1990 BSc (Chemistry) batch students of CMS College who decides to make a get together after 15 years.

When they meet with their present day problems, what happens forms the crux of the story, written by former journalist and television writer James Albert. Student politics, canteen jokes, silent love, romance and other nostalgic happenings are the highlights of the screenplay, which is now being celebrated in Malluwood.
