Heart strokes and cardiac arrests touch people of all ages. Usually, old-aged individuals are susceptible to developing heart-related issues. But, in rare cases, youngsters, adolescents and even kids are prone to dying of heart strokes.
In Telangana's Sircilla, an 8-year-old kid named Burra Koushik today died of a heart stroke. He was studying in Class III.
As per reports, the kid was standing in the queue to eat his mid-day meal at a government school in Venkatraopalli in Boinpalli mandal. After he complained of discomfort in his chest, the staff of the school took him to a hospital in Karimnagar. By then, the child was dead.
The incident has shocked many. "Pediatric stroke is a rare condition affecting one in every 4,000 newborns and an additional 2,000 older children each year," says a medical site. "The reasons why stroke occurs in children are varied and include malformations of the blood vessels and rare diseases," says another portal.
