Clash before splash

With just a day to go for his maiden political conference, actor Vijayakanth and his fans faced loud protests from DPI cadres all over the State, who struck posters demanding his arrest for 'demeaning' Thangar Bachchan.

This resulted in bloody clashes between Vijayakanth's fans and DPI cadres in different parts of the State on Monday.

The DPI had even attempted to burn the effigy of Vijayakanth on Monday demanding the arrest of the actor, in Chennai.

Similar clashes between the actor's fans and DPI cadres have been reported from various parts of the State for tearing of posters and banners of each other.
