Bollywood director Nishikant Kamat has been hospitalized due to liver cirrhosis at Hyderabad’s AIG Hospital. The director of Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam’ has been put on ventilator support.
On Monday, several media reports have claimed that Kamat is no more. The news is that the director is alive and is battling his health condition. “Nishikant Kamat is on ventilator support. He is still alive & fighting. Let’s pray for him. Requesting all the respected Media Houses who reported on #NishikantKamat to put out a clarification please,” Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh tweeted.
Writer-director Milaap said, “Just spoke to someone who is with Nishikant in the hospital right now. He hasn’t passed away yet. Yes he is very critical and fighting life and death. But he is still alive.”
Kamat, who is known for Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam’, ‘Madaari’ and other films, is also an actor. Movie buffs are fond of his critically-acclaimed Marathi film ‘Dombivali Fast’, which went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film.
We wish Kamat a speedy recovery.
