With the lockdown, there is uncertainty in the release of films. While most of the movies' release has been pushed, a few others have opted for a direct release on OTT platforms. As you know Vijay Babu's new movie with Jayasurya titled 'Sufiyum Sujathayum' will be released on Amazon Prime Videos soon.
However many big films including Priyadarshan ambitious Marakkar and Nivin Pauly's Thuramukham are still aiming at theatrical release. Thuramukham's director Rajeev Ravi recently revealed in an interview with TOI, that the team is planning only for a theatrical release as the movie has been made on a large scale.
“Currently, we want to finish the post-production. This movie has been made on a big scale and theatrical release would be our first option. Right now, it’s a period of transition with the digital releases in play, so we can’t say how the future would be, especially when people now aren’t too keen on watching movies in multiplexes in the midst of such a crisis," said Rajeev Ravi.
'Thuramukham', which revolves around the uprisings of the labourers against the ‘chappa’ system during the late 50s, has Nivin Pauly in the lead role along with Arjun Ashokan as his brother and Joju George and Poornima playing their parent. Indrajith and Nimisha Sajayan will also be seen in important roles.
