Actor Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram had made his debut as a hero recently with the movie Adithya Varma directed by debutant Gireesaaya, and was the remake of Telugu hit Arjun Reddy. Initially, the movie was made by director Bala as Varma, but the version was scrapped by the producer.

Now, cinematographer Sukumar, who had worked in Varma has said that Varma was the best version when compared to Adithya varma, and said Varma was made on first copy basis and till the censor process there were no signs of scrapping the movie, but the producer did it because of someone's suggestion.

Sukumar said that Bala did the movie for the friendship he shares with Vikram, and if people are saying Dhruv acted well in Adithya Varma, it was because of how Bala moulded him in Varmaa. Bala who was impressed by Dhruv's variations said that he will overtake his father Vikram, and had given complete freedom to Dhruv which made him act well. Sukumar said that people must get to see Varmaa, and that this scrapping will not impact the friendship between Vikram and Bala, and Bala will direct Dhruv again.
