Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation (APFDC) has announced that it is going to float a portal named Your Screens through which movie-going audience can book their cinema tickets. The move, as per APFDC, has been initiated to end black marketing in the sale of cinema tickets. The portal is also expected to curb the practice of high convenience charges.

Service charges to the tune of Rs 20 have been charged by private portals. On the other hand, Your Screens will charge less than Rs 2.

The portal has come into existence due to the relentless efforts made by Information and Public Relations Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani), who has preoccupied himself with the issue for months.

Since theatres and exhibitors have already entered into contracts with private ticketing portals, they are allowed to continue with their contracts. However, it is mandatory for them to let tickets be booked through Your Screens.
