Kamal Haasan was at it again. On Friday, the ace actor interacted with the students of the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, and expressed his desire to work with them to take cinema to the next level.
Speaking at a gathering of students on the first day of the ÂSaarangÂ, an annual festival, he said: ÂThe handshake between film industry and IIT has already happened. And now I want to bring my Red One camera to work with you guys.Â
ÂCinema is a democratic process, the actor said and added: ÂIt is not like a Van Gogh work where the artist has the canvas and colors at his disposal. A number of add-ons could be created by IITians, which would make the film industry less dependent on imported technology.Â
In his address, filmmaker Goutham Vasudev Menon said, ÂTamil films today are where Hindi films were ten years ago. Producers should re-engineer themselves to tap the global market. I would like to make a 3D film on ÂAlice in Wonderland to take Tamil cinema to the international audience.Â
