There have been several comic actors in Bollywood but no one quite like Chunky Pandey. He has a unique style of making people laugh at his own expense which a little different than the traditional slapstick comedy. Chunky has played several humorous roles in a number of films till now but the way he secured his first project is an insanely hilarious comedy skit in itself.

During a recent YouTube talk show, Chunky recalled that in his early days, he went to a party wearing a churidar pajama. He recalled, "I had a few extra beers, so I ran to the washroom to relieve myself and I couldn't open my naada. And I was screaming, 'Koi mujhe help karo (Somebody help me)!' They thought I was really funny." The first person to approach him was filmmaker Pahlaj Nihlani.

Chunky added, "Can you believe it? We got talking, and there was no internet in those days. So we start having this conversation, and he asked me 'What do you do?' I said, 'I'm a model, I'm trying for films. Sir, what do you do?'. He said, 'I just made a film with Govinda called Ilzaam'. I nearly fainted. I passed out. I said, 'You're Pahlaj Nihalani! Such a pleasure meeting you'. Without washing my hands I was trying to shake his hand."

A few days later Pahlaj invited Chunky to his office where the latter signed his first film.
