Writer-director Christopher Nolan has made a firm decision that he will never return to direct another superhero movie. In an interview with Indiewire, Nolan said he has no interest in directing any more movies about superheroes after his iconic Batman films.

Asked if he might make a TV series or make a Star Wars movie, Nolan said no to both. But he added that he had at least through the end of the decade in which to keep making movies.

Legendary “The Dark Knight” filmmaker Nolan kicked off his legendary trio with 2005’s “Batman Begins,” followed by 2008’s “The Dark Knight,” and 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” all starring Christian Bale as Batman. Back in February 2010, Bale had mentioned that he would only consider returning to play Batman if Nolan were to direct.

Since finishing his superhero projects, Nolan has gone on to do other genres. Remember that this director can do it all—from the historical dramas like "Dunkirk" to the ambitious science fiction epics like "Interstellar."

His latest, "Oppenheimer," stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, a brilliant physicist instrumental in developing the first nuclear weapons during World War II and starring Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., and Florence Pugh.

In spite of making a decision to step away from superheroes, Nolan's dedication to storytelling and captivating audiences remains undeterred. With his original vision and ability, he continues to make cinematic masterpieces that leave enduring impressions on audience members and redefine the movie-going experience.
