Feeling Jon Favreau had some vision and knew about how extraordinary RDJ's acting was, Nolan said that it was a great decision and led to remarkable outcomes. The director respects the way Downey could resign himself to acting under tall orders of complexity and nuance his character asks him in ‘Oppenheimer’ considering himself as a charismatic movie star.
Nolan believes that audiences will pleasantly be surprised to see Downey’s character because he is brilliant, and it’ll be a great performance by him given how much range and talent he possesses.
