A shocking confession has come on conversions, straight from the horse's mouth. We are talking about Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, the YSRCP MP, who has commented on Times Now that large-scale religious conversions have been taking place in Andhra Pradesh.
"I accept that large scale conversion happens in Andhra Pradesh, but it happens in other states, too," he said, referring to Christian missionaries targeting people of other faiths.
When the TV host expressed shock and asked him what the government is doing about it, the MP answered, "It's not happening only now. It happened even during the previous government. And conversions in a big way are not happening just in Andhra Pradesh. They are happening in other parts of the country, too. With their money power, Christian missionaries are carrying out conversions like this."
The MP lost it when he said that India is a secular country and so, conversions can't be stopped. It took the host to remind him that deploying monetary inducements for religious conversions is fraudulent. This is when the MP tried to do some damage control. "Inducements can be through money or preaching. I am not getting into that," the MP commented.
