Academy Award winning British actor Christian Bale, who played the role of comic book superhero Batman in Christopher Nolan’s critically acclaimed Dark Knight trilogy from 2005 - 2012, has revealed that he is open to the idea of returning as Batman, but only under one condition.

The actor, when asked if he had been approached to return as the superhero, said, “No, no, no. Nobody, nobody reaches out to me or they keep me like a mushroom, keep me in the dark and feed me s**t.” He further mentioned that he would only consider playing the character again if Christopher Nolan directed it. “For me, that would be a matter of Chris Nolan, if he ever decided to do it again and if he chose to come my way again, then yeah, I would consider it because that was always our pact between each other is we would just stick to it,” he said.

“We said we would only ever make three. And then I said to myself, and I’d only ever make it with Chris,” Christian Bale added. Since 2012, Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson have portrayed the role of Batman in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the 2022 film ‘The Batman,’ respectively.
