Chris Evans Agrees with Tarantino: Marvel’s Characters Shine Brightest

Chris Evans now partly agrees with some of Quentin Tarantino’s comments that Marvel overshadowed its actors. Tarantino had expressed the fact that people watch these Marvel films mainly because of the characters and not really because the actors are playing them. Evans, who played Captain America, came close to agreeing to some extent, stating how working on Marvel films allowed one to be out of the spotlight frequently.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige disagreed with this line of thought, elaborating on how crucial the actor was in terms of their contribution. Evans, who apparently last filmed for Marvel franchises in 2019, has retired from the franchise but still says he is open to coming back.

He thanked his Marvel experience, but the tag of being a money-making machine shouldn’t stick to him, and he hopes it stays original. Also, he said that he wants to work less on acting and do other stuff in life.

Evans had discussed how fame achieved because of Marvel has given him financial stability and the choice to select projects to work on. He elaborated on how he can also step back from this industry anytime one chooses and thank God for it.

He joked that he was appreciating the finer things in life, and maybe he was moving on to other chapters of life and not acting. Evans said the opportunity to move on to what comes next is something he’s excited about, and he thanked Marvel for his continued health.

Evans’ long run at Marvel has a few more acts left before he hangs up the shield. His next major box-office smash is “Pain Hustlers” with Emily Blunt on Netflix, dropping on October 20.
