Telugu choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, widely known as Jani Master, has been booked under serious allegations of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old female colleague. According to a report, the woman, also a choreographer, lodged a complaint with the Raidurgam police in Hyderabad. She alleged that Jani Master had sexually assaulted her multiple times during their outdoor shoots in cities such as Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad over the past few months.

The woman also claimed that the abuse extended to her residence in Narsingi, Hyderabad. Based on her statement, the Raidurgam police registered a zero First Information Report (FIR), which has since been transferred to the Narsingi police for further investigation. A senior police official confirmed that the case would now be handled by the Narsingi police, as the victim resides in that jurisdiction.

Jani Master has been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including section 376(2)(n) (rape), section 506 (criminal intimidation), and section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt). The Director General of the Women Safety Wing (WSW) Telangana, Shikha Goel, revealed that individuals from the film industry sought her advice on handling the matter. She recommended launching an internal investigation under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act, in addition to the ongoing criminal proceedings.

In a separate incident earlier this year, Jani Master faced harassment accusations from dancer Satish, who claimed that the choreographer was preventing him from securing work in film shoots. Jani Master denied these allegations in a press conference.

This is not the first time the choreographer has faced legal trouble. In 2019, Jani Master was sentenced to six months in jail by a Medchal court in Hyderabad for his involvement in a 2015 college brawl. Despite his legal issues, he remains active on social media, often sharing photos with notable figures such as Ram Charan, Pawan Kalyan, and Rajkummar Rao.
