Anu Prabhakar is very choosy in her selection of roles. Anu, the daughter in law of ‘Abhinaya Sharade’ Jayanthi is in an off beat film ‘Parikshe’. Set in a village backdrop, ‘Parikshe’ is a clash between social orders in the village. The village chieftain’s atrocity on the protagonist Anu Prabakar and how she overcomes the sufferings when she is tagged as AIDS victim is what the film is about. Director Seetharam Karanth is back with this film after a long gap. Karanth has completed 14 days shoot for the film. B Patil produces this film under Gomatesh Films.

Shashidhar Bhat has penned the dialogues, Hemanthkumar has scored the music. Veteran Geethapriya has penned lyrics. R Manjunath is the cameraman. Vinaykumar, Muni, Siddaraj Kalyankar, Shanthamma, Master Kiran and Enagi Balappa play other roles.
