The students of the University of Houston performed to a medley of songs at the famous Howdy Modi event in Texas, US. For a minute or so, a Telugu song was played as part of a cultural program to highlight the linguistic diversity of India.

For whatever reason, the performers chose 'Pakka Local' song from 'Janatha Garage' for the occasion! The performance did draw whistles from the large gathering but the choice of the song has come in for much trolling on social media.

"What is the point in choosing an item song? Didn't they find a better option to highlight the best of the pop culture? It was inappropriate for the occasion, given that the lyrics are laced with doubles entendres," a commentator said.

Shot on NTR and Kajal Aggarwal, the song was a big hit when it released in 2016. Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, its lyrics are by Ramajogayya Sastry .
