Mani Ratnam's epic historical fantasy 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' is all set to storm theaters worldwide this coming Friday, April 28th. There is double the anticipation for the mulitstarrer movie especially after the first part made box office history by collecting more than rupees five hundred crores the highest ever in Tamil cinema.
Chiyaan Vikram, who plays the character of Aditha Karikalan in 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' at the recent promotional tour shared that years back Kamal Haasan wanted him on board for a television series based on Kalki's novel of the same name. He explained that after Kamal Haasan got the rights of 'Ponniyin Selvan' from MGR, he called him and said that he is planning to make the novel into a TV series and that he can choose any character he liked.
But Vikram said that at that time he had no intention of acting in TV serials and told Kamal that he is ready to act in any character if the novel was made into a film. The National Award winning actor thanked the legendary Ulaganayagan for giving him the freedom to choose any character in his project that never materialised. Now of course his character in the Mani Ratnam film has won his laurel and fans cant wait to watch him again in the sequel.
