Director Pa Ranjith joined forces with Studio Green for his magnum opus film, 'Thangalaan'. Chiyaan Vikram, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathi and many talented actors came together for this highly anticipated period action drama that revolves around the Kolar Gold Fields.

The filming of Thangalaan commenced last year and the team has now moved to the KGF, Karnataka today for a new schedule. As per sources, the makers have planned a 40-day long schedule without any breaks and Chiyaan Vikram will join the shoot tomorrow. It is reported that the important action scenes will be shot in this KGF schedule.

The entire shooting is expected to be wrapped up by March and the movie is likely to hit the screens in the second half of 2023. Actress Parvathy lost weight for her role in Thangalaan while Malavika is also on a strict diet and rigorous martial arts training as her role is physically demanding.

GV Prakash is composing the musical score for Thangalaan, which is being made in 3D. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. The technical team includes Kishor Kumar as the DOP, Selva R K as the editor and S S Murthi as the art director with stunt choreography by Stunner Sam.
