On Vikram's birthday last year, the big announcement was made that he will be starring in the pan Indian multilingual historical 'Mahaveer Karna' directed by R.S. Vimal. A teaser was also released featuring the intense actor. The shoot of a few portions of the film had also commenced and stills of the same went viral on the internet
The movie had been in the news for quite a long time. However, the project now seems to have been revamped with a new team. RS Vimal recently unveiled an official logo teaser of the flick with the new title 'Suryaputra Mahavir Karna'. However, the lead character's face was not revealed in it and the director wrote, "This is nothing but an absolute dream-come-true moment! Excited to share a glimpse of our most valued project,..."
Sources have reported that Vikram opted out of 'Suryaputra Mahavir Karna' due to scheduling conflicts with his other historical biggie 'Ponniyin Selvan'. It is now speculated that Vikram will be replaced by a Bollywood actor.
'Suryaputra Mahavir Karna' will be made in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages, and the film is claimed to be redefining the genre of period dramas. The film will narrate the story of Karna from the perspective of the unsung hero of the Mahabharata.
The upcoming multilingual movie is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment, one of the biggest production companies in India. Dialogues and screenplay of the film are penned by poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas.
