Chiyaan Vikram starrer 'Cobra' is one of the biggest and most-awaited releases in Tamil cinema this year. The film, directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, was released in cinemas worldwide yesterday. Fans, audiences and critics expressed mixed responses about the movie and they were dissatisfied with the runtime.
This movie has marked the fourth-highest opening day collection for a Tamil film on the first day in 2022. Though this film emerged as the biggest opening in Chiyaan Vikram's career, the lengthy timing didn't sit well with the filmgoers on the first day of the release. Cobra's initial theatrical runtime was 3 hours 3 minutes and 3 seconds.
Now, the latest is that the movie team has made a bold decision to satisfy the audience and also to continue the box office success. The makers have trimmed 'Cobra' to a shorter duration of around 2 hours and 40 mins. They released an official statement in this regard which reads:
"ANY MOVIE IS A FORM OF ENTERTAINMENT SPECIFICALLY CURATED TO CHEER AUDIENCES AND MAKE THEM ENJOY THE CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE...
ITS OF GREAT HAPPINESS TO THE TEAM IF CONTENT DELIVERED E IS WORTH THE AUDIENCE TIME AND TICKET MONEY.
