Critically acclaimed director Pa Ranjith's last film 'Sarpatta Parambarai' was a blockbuster hit. It looks like the director has finallised his next script and actor Vikram is all set to join hands with him for the first time. The film is tentatively titled Chiyaan 61.

Previously it was rumoured that Vikram will join hands with Pa Ranjith for his next. But the 'Attakathi' director's sudden meeting with Kamal Haasan led the fans to a speculation of him working with Ulaga Nayagan.

Now the official announcement has arrived with a picture. The film will be produced by Studio Green’s K. E. Gnanavel Raja and the rest of cast adn crew is expected to be announced soon. This new film will mark the 23rd production of Gnanavel Raja, and will go on floors by December last week.

Vikram is presently acting in Ajay Gnanamuthu’s Cobra, which is in its final schedule. The actor has completed shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan and Karthik Subbaraj’s Mahaan. He is currently waiting for the release of Mahaan directed by karthick Subbaraj. The film also stars his son Dhruv in a prominent role.
