Chiru to grace Rangasthalam event, Sukumar speaks about the film

Megastar Chiranjeevi will be the chief guest at the pre-release event of 'Rangasthalam', to be held on March 18.

Naveen Erneni, the film's producer, says, "We are going to hold the event at Vizag's RK Beach on the 18th.  It will be a grand one.  With the cooperation of the city's commissioner and Municipal Commissioner, we are going to make it big on that day.  We are very confident about our film.  Post-production works are happening comfortably.  We are going to send off the prints to the US early on.  We extend an open welcome to fans to attend the pre-release event."

Sukumar said, "We have released the Jukebox of the film today.  Three of the songs had become a big hit already.  The other two songs are also out today.  'Jigelu Rani' and 'Aa Gattununtava' are getting a nice response.  There is another surprise song in the movie.  Chandrabose garu has rendered it.  Our film will especially entertain those who belong to the '80s era.  Those of you who missed that generation will also enjoy the movie.  My work became easy, thanks to the good technicians who have worked on the film.  Ramakrishna's art direction is great.  I didn't have to work too hard.  I was bowled over when I saw the set."

He added, "Chandrabose garu wrote each of the songs in 10-15 minutes.  The tunes were composed after the lyrics were written."

The director further said, "I grew up in a village for 25-28 years.  Doing this film was like revisiting those experiences.  'Nenokkadine' and 'Nannaku Prematho' were big hits in the US.  When I once went to that country, someone happened to question me as to when I will do a film that is close to Indian culture.  I felt ashamed."

The director said that the word 'Gollabama' in 'Rangamma Mangamma' has nothing to do with any caste group.

Sukumar further said, "When I first had an item song in a film, it was a big hit.  Since then, item songs have been a constant feature in my films.  Since Naveen garu also loves item songs, I went in for one for 'Rangasthalam', too."

Art director Ramakrishna said, "The audience will be thrilled to watch the movie.  Since I was born and brought up in the film industry, I don't know much about the rural culture.  I erected this set after doing a thorough research."

Chandrabose said, "The album is a combination of good literature and good music.  Since most of us have a rural background, the songs have struck an instant chord."

The film releases on March 30.
