Given the role of media in making or breaking a celebrity, the new-age celebrities are keen on owning or at least having considerable stakes in media houses.

Already, Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi own parts of Maa TV. Now comes the news that Chiranjeevi could also back a forthcoming channel by pumping in huge money.

Likely to be called T channel, it is a political and news-based channel, unlike Maa TV which is an entertainment channel.
