Megastar Chiranjeevi has made a big contribution to the Telugu film industry in its fight against COVID-19. “The lockdown situation while mandatory to deal with the Corona crisis, also adversely impacts the lives of daily wage workers and lower-income groups in the country, including the Telugu film industry. Keeping this in mind, I am donating Rs.1 Cr for providing relief to the film workers,” the legendary actor said on Thursday afternoon.
Unlike the contributions of Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan and others, this money is not to the government, but for financing the welfare of film workers who have received a blow because of the ongoing shutdown. The donation will definitely make a huge difference in terms of financing the purchase of rice bags, etc. to feed the poor workers.
Earlier this week, Superstar Rajinikanth made Rs 50 lakh of contribution to FEFSI. Chiru’s contribution falls in this category.
