In a display of magnanimity, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Mega Power Star Ram Charan are learned to have parted with up to 80% of their remunerations they had made on 'Acharya'. The film, helmed by Koratala Siva, is one of the most colossal flops in the history of Telugu cinema.
The 'Sye Raa' actor, despite spending the maximum amount of time on 'Acharya' since his comeback to films, didn't mind returning a lion's share of his remuneration in order to make good the losses of distributors and other stakeholders.
By doing so, Chiru must have made losses in net terms if you take opportunity costs into consideration. Had he done some other film that became a hit instead of 'Acharya', he would have been much better off.
In a recent interview, the 'Bholaa Shankar' actor said that he has risen above hits and flops. "There was a time when flops used to make me go into a shell. Not anymore," Chiru told a portal.
As for 'GodFather', it is a direct release by its producers.
