Megastar Chiranjeevi on Wednesday condoled the demise of Padma Shri Shobha Naidu, the renowned Kuchipudi exponent. The legendary actor described the celebrated danseuse's passing away as "deeply saddening".
Saying that her death is an irreparable loss to the Telugu cultural art fraternity, the 'Acharya' actor wrote that Naidu "carried the legacy of the legend and her mentor Vempati China Satyam garu, incredibly well."
The 'Sye Raa' actor added, "She relentlessly worked for the promotion of our culture through Kuchipudi dance with great commitment and trained thousands of disciples."
Chiru recalled his personal association with Naidu. "I felt it was an honor when she appreciated my classical dance act in the film ‘Shubhalekha’. Ever since the tradition continued. She had the opportunity to pursue a glittering career in films, but instead chose to dedicate herself to the Kuchipudi art form as she felt that was her calling," the actor added.
"I salute her for her tremendous services to Indian / Telugu culture. My heartfelt condolences to the family.May her soul rest in peace," Chiru signed off.
