Scores of Mega fans earlier on Friday reportedly clashed with activists belonging to a particular social group over the naming of a park in Uradallapelam village, West Godavari district.

Reportedly, an altercation broke out when the fans insisted that the name of the park should be after Megastar Chiranjeevi and Power Star Pawan Kalyan. On the other hand, the social group insisted that the name should be after a national icon. Due to a lapse in security, the verbal duel escalated into a clash, resulting in the injury of at least six persons.

Early reports suggest that efforts are on to calm the tense situation. Elders belonging to the two communities have been asked by the police to make an appeal for amity.

Pawan Kalyan is expected to make an appeal later in the day.
