Chiranjeevi has donated Rs 5 lakh to veteran cinematographer P Devaraj, who has been going through financial troubles. The 'Waltair Veerayya' superstar got to learn about Devaraj's problems from his team. Recently, in an interview, the veteran technician spoke about his financial issues even though he has cranked the camera for 300 films in the past.
The 'GodFather' actor's heart melted on coming to know of the plight of the cinematographer of his movies like 'Nagu' and 'Puli Begguli'. He immediately made an arrangement to get Rs 5 lakh to reach the needy person's family.
In 2021, Chiranjeevi set aside Rs 15 lakh to help out various artists from the film industry for the year. He reached out to Pavala Syamala and late journalist TNR's wife by giving them Rs 1 lakh each. The same year, he gave Rs 2 lakh to Kollywood actor Ponnambalam toward medical expenses.
As for Devaraj, he worked on films starring not only Chiru, Venkatesh, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, and others of the previous generation, but also the actors like NTR and ANR of the black-and-white era.
