Chiranjeevi went through tense moments on October 2, the day on which 'Sye Raa' hit the screens. Here is the reason in the words of the Megastar himself:

"In the wee hours of the day, Devi Sri Prasad called me up after watching the first half of the film at a premier show in the US. He was jubilant and had superlative praises. After this call, nobody called us up for the next few hours, leaving me tensed. A friend of mine who lives in the US didn't call me up at all. Allu Arjun did say that the film is very good but I didn't take his words seriously because he is a family member. It's only at 7 AM did calls started coming. I was now sure that the film would work for the audience," said Chiru on Monday.

He added that he is open to playing freedom fighters like Shivaji in the future.
