MAA President and senior actor Naresh has waded into the ongoing Balakrishna-Chiranjeevi controversy. A day after Balayya said that he was not invited to the recent meeting between Tollywood's representatives and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Naresh on Friday said that even the Movie Artists Association (MAA) was not informed about the meeting.
Referring to producer C Kalyan's statement that it was MAA's responsibility to send an invite to Balayya, Naresh tweeted, "I am shocked to see the statement of Mr C Kalyan that it was MAA’s responsibility to invite Mr Balakrishna to the meetings with Mr Chiranjeevi or the CM garu. As the President of MAA, when General Secretary nor myself was not informed of any such meetings, how could I have invited someone to the meeting? (sic)."
Earlier today, Prasanna Kumar of the Producers Council criticized Chiranjeevi & Co for not engaging with the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce in making the recent moves under the aegis of Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav. Naresh's latest statement suggests that he thinks the MAA should have been informed about the meeting.
