For many days now, it has been widely speculated that Chiranjeevi will be made the in-charge of AICC affairs with respect to Tamil Nadu. While that is an assignment coming from Rahul Gandhi, it's also rumoured that the party high command is keen on elevating the Rajya Sabha MP's position within the party.

As per reports in vernacular press in Andhra Pradesh, the actor-turned-politician will be made the Chief Ministerial candidate of the Congress Party in the run-up to 2019 polls. While the polls are 2.5 years away, the ground work will have to be done by the candidate from now.

In an interview before the release of 'Khaidi No. 150', Chiru said that he has no agenda to fulfill in the field of politics, at least in the short to medium-term. It has to be seen if he is mentally prepared for a bigger role that the high command give him.

If at all he accepts Rahul's orders, what impact it will have on his filmi career will have to be seen. Temperamentally, the Megastar is all too keen on doing more and more films. There is a possibility that he will continue to act till mid-2018, following which he will again bid adieu to acting.

But the sexier aspect of it all will be an electoral fight between Chiru and Pawan Kalyan's party.
